Infections and Diseases
Rabbits suffer from different infections like myxomatosis, viral haemorrhage disease. They sometimes have external parasites, bacterial infections like Salmonellosis, E.coli.
Their feeding habit leads to intestinal parasites like worms. They might have lice or mites in their fur. Solutions to the problem include regular vet checks, clean hygienic environment.

Rabbit Housing
The rabbit housing is basic and construction materials easily available. Common materials in the housing include bamboo, plastic, mud, plastic, branches. The animals could be placed in cages similar to those used to house chicken.
The design, construction depends on the breed, climatic conditions. The design should establish a safety zone for the animals from predators. A general purpose hutch could be 1 meter above ground, length 100cm and width 60 cm.
A good frontal height is 55cm same as the back. Another cage dimension to use is 30" Deep x 36" wide x 18" high.
How to Maintain the Hutches
It is important maintain good hygiene standards. Regularly wash and disinfect the house. Scrap out the dirt and faeces.
Feeding
There are five basic types of food eaten by rabbits. You have hay, supplements, starches, grains, succulents. Hays include soybeans, groundnuts, cowpeas, greens and legumes. Succulents are cabbages, lettuce, carrots and potatoes leave.
Grains are guinea corn, rice, maize, millet and potatoes. Farmers use supplements like cotton seed, soyameal, groundnut cakes, pelleted food.  Great care should be taking during the preparation of the food. Wash edibles and remove all dust particles before serving them.
